I’m not a gifted visionary, a leader, but I have a deep desire to build a generation to eradicate silence and mend brokenness within our selves and amongst our community. It’s a feat I cant accomplish, not alone.
So what is the plan? It’s simple, first I’ll start with me. I’ll start with family, my spouse, parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws. You name it. Then I’ll pass this vision on to the next generation by teaching my son, Jonathan, about authenticity and vulnerability. I’ll teach him about brokenness. I’ll teach him to how to feel and talk about his emotions.
By living out my vision hopefully others will see it and want to practice it too.
Build a Generation equipped to mend our communal and individual brokenness through authenticity and vulnerability.
Where do we start?
First we start by redefining healthy relationships. Change starts with you. It starts with me. We have to eradicate silence in our lives.
"For me, silence was a mode of survival. It was the default. Witness something horrific. Silence. Experience trauma. Silence. Find out a painful secret that affected numerous people. Silence. My struggle with depression and suicide. Silence."
Silence only imprisons us in our pain, our hurts, in loneliness. Eradicating silence invites others into our life. Eradicating silence allows us to be attuned with ourselves and with our loved ones.
